The Mystic Realms HUD is uniquely made by and for TMR exclusively by our wonderful Sim Turtle. See the manual on how to use it bellow!
Going clockwise on the hud, the buttons go as follows: HUD HP, Sit Rezzer, Experience Teleport, Dice/Combat, Character, Settings, and Help. Clicking the main HUD button you can hide these buttons behind the HUD itself. Hit Alt+Shift+H if you ever wish to hide your entire HUD interface and vice versa to show it again.
Our teleporters around the sims work on experiences. We use several. Zed, Mystic Realms, and the [Y&A] Experience Teleport. The most important one to accept, however, is the Mystic Realms experience, as that is the one that controls our HUD entirely including our portals and teleports.
If you accidentally forget to accept the experiences, tp out and back in, or you can go to Avatar>Experiences>and search “Mystic Realms”.
The experience will show CassandraMiddles as the creator!
Now then. When looking at the TMR Portal and Teleport Menu, you’ll see three options, TMR[The Mystic Realms], DW[Dire Waters], and RoTF[Realm of the Fae]. These are our three sims that make up the Mystic Realms! Clicking them will bring in drop downs to take you around the sims. TMR also hosts the Western Dales and Snow Peak, Faerndil, and Ghosmourn. DW also hosts Caras Galadhon. Once you click on these, you’ll get another pop up menu:
With this Menu, you can see numbers next to different spots on the sim! You do not need to type in the full name, just the number. Then hit “submit.” It will take you straight to that destination. EZPZ! If there are incorrect locations, as we update and change often, please let CassandraMiddles know and she will update the landmarks. If there is a section you feel would be a good benefit to have in the HUD, please send a landmark to her as well and a reason as to why.
Note: the portals around sim are IC. feel free to use them to fast travel around the sim if your character would use them.
The sit rezzer is just a simple added tool to be able to sit and hangout wherever you wish, using your AO sit. Simply click the button and a pose ball will rezz out for you. We suggest that you right-click, edit before sitting so that you can easily see where it is and move it with ease. If you don’t, just use, Ctrl+Alt+T to show and hide transparent objects. Don’t stress about leaving it when you stand. These pose balls are temporary and will automatically delete once you stand up. They also will automatically delete after one minute if you did not mean to rezz it when clicking on the buttons of the HUD, so please do not feel bad if you do so by accident!
The Dice HUDis going to be the most detailed section, so if you have more questions after reading this, do not hesitate to reach out! We do ask that you test it out with a friend, too!
Going down the list, our Dice HUD consists of “Quick,” a basic d20 roll; “Target,” a way of targeting who you wish to attack or contest; “Combat,” attempting to hit who you targeted; and “Contest,” for instances that are non-combatant. Beneath it are hitpoints, where our cap is 3, our base is 0.
The Quick roll is instantaneous and has no blue pop up
You can manually raise or lower your HP. Use this for healing or harming oneself in RP. We prefer you roleplay it out instead of adding a ‘healer’ option, so please do have fun and be creative when healing or getting hurt if you need to do so, instead of looking for a heal button. RP it out and ask the person you heal to manually raise.
First up, make sure you have a character made. In this example, we will be using Sunday[Left] and Poppy[Right]. Click Target, and you can target the person you wish to combat or contest.
Our Combat HUD relies on consent, a d20, a 3HP cap system, and without showcasing numbers for hit and misses. We do this for several reasons. We want you to have fun and focus more on the RP than on the numbers and modifiers, but also to keep players both veteran and new on equal grounds.
We also make sure every attack role has consent so that both parties know and acknowledge a hit and attack. With this, it also gives those that are getting attacked, a chance to either defend or counter[return attack]. If their counter is successful, the HP of the person they hit will go down one.
Now you might be thinking, “But Mystic, if I can just return the attack, why would I ever defend?”
We do this for RP purposes. If you’d counter every time, then counter every time. If you’re being attacked, be attacked. I want it known that we are not a dice-focused sim, and want you to roleplay it more than you would rely on dice. You can combat as often as you want, but enjoy the roleplay, not the numbers. Use them for options but not as a mandatory need.
Along with this consent, it also gives the option for the person getting attacked to altogether deny it. Do this attack first before RPing it out so that you know how to act accordingly. We do make sure that everyone also sees it inworld, so everything is public!
Oh! And if you ever wish to fight someone else, simply click “Target” again to swap out who you wish to attack. Always make sure everyone has their characters set up, or else they will not show in the pop-up on who to attack!
Creating a character works like every RP titler HUD there is, really. We just have it in a pretty image HUD. In ours, we have the following options: New, Load, Name, Titler, and Delete.
NOTE: Though our HUD only hosts three characters, we DO NOT limit you to three characters. You can have as many as you feel you can handle. Simply save titler settings in a notecard and swap them out if you wish to have more!
When you wish to make a new character, simply click “New”. If you already have three, click one you wish to delete by clicking “load” and then “delete.” OR, you can also just Click “Name” and rename that current character to the one you want it to be as a new character. All options work just fine.
Changing Bonko to Banksy by clicking “Name”
Deleting the name “Poopy”
Deleting the name “Poopy”
In this same section is the option to fill in your titler. As said above, you can save and swap out titler information if you have more than three characters. You can have three lines in our titler, hitting enter to go to a new line
We highly suggest you keep it short and simple and what someone would immediately see and know! Create a pick to add more so that there’s less clutter above your head. We also have resources on our website and discord that allow players to create info-dumps for their characters. If you’d like access to use our blog page on our website, please reach out to our staff with an email to be invited.
Our settings tab covers the rest of what doesn’t fit in Character and Combat, including ways to hide HUD and Titler HP
Along with this, you can also change the Chatter number from our default /3 /3nar and /3ooc to another number so that you can use another HUD of your choice
I suggest a number you know you’d never normally use for any /gesture, like 9.
If you wish to also hide your titler fully, click “color” and select the option to “Show/Hide” it completely. With all of this combined, it allows you to use any third party titler you prefer to use. The HUD will still be attached.
Finally in this section are Statuses, a way to let people know what you’re up to on sim. We wanted to give you a way to communicate if you needed to be approached or needed a bit of space whilst on sim.
Our last button is the Help button, consisting of three options: Website, Discord, and Page 4 Help.
The website button will take you to our linktree that contains all of our resources, from Flickr to this website to our inworld landmarks.
The Discord works similarly, taking you to our public and extremely active server, where our staff and players can reply to you much faster than they normally can inworld.
Finally, “Page 4 Help” does exactly that, paging a helpful helper or watchful warden to help you out if you’re needing it, both inworld and in Discord. It will give you a prompt first, just in case you clicked it on accident:
And then if so, it will send these messages out
They will get to you ASAP, though we do HIGHLY recommend joining the Discord, as that is truly the fastest way to get help and answers, if they’re not answered on our website.
If there are any further questions on the Mystic Realms HUD, do reach out to sim staff, and we will address it as well as update the website accordingly to better engage and showcase it for understanding! Have fun!
